Board of Directors Unanimously Passes New Academic Standard

The mission of Foundation 59 has always been to remove the barriers that exist between young golfers and the pursuit of their dream to play in college or at the professional level. Along with providing financial assistance to these athletes, we believe the other component is mentoring our athletes in a way that sets them up for success on and off the golf course. We are committed to working with scholar-athletes. Scholar being first, and athlete being second. In order for our athletes to reach their maximum potential they must excel in the classroom as well as on the golf course. Therefore, Foundation 59 Board of Directors has unanimously passed a new academic standard for all Foundation 59 athletes beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year.

Foundation 59 now requires a 3.0 GPA or higher to be eligible for financial assistance, and to initially be accepted into the organization. This applies to all age groups and is considered to be in effect immediately. We want to continue to make the success of our junior golfers our first priority in all that we do. We believe this new academic standard will do just that.
